The owner should understand safe operation and when not to use the system.

Use after generator and transfer equipment installation but before relying on it during an outage. Never connect a generator through an improvised backfeed method. Fuel, combustion, carbon-monoxide, and energized-system work require qualified personnel. Do not remove electrical covers, operate unapproved equipment, test energized conductors, backfeed circuits, or bypass interlocks. Service, panel, EV, generator, solar, and battery work must be performed and inspected by qualified persons where required.
