The selected floor should be approved for the room, substrate, exposure, and installation method. Required acclimation and moisture evaluation should follow the product warranty and instructions.
Subfloor preparation, patching, fastening, cleanliness, and flatness should meet the flooring manufacturer requirements and the approved scope.
Row direction, starting width, end-joint staggering, perimeter space, fixed-object clearances, maximum continuous area, and transitions are product-specific requirements.
Click joints, glued joints, end joints, reducers, thresholds, stair parts, and transition profiles should be installed without damage and remain secure under normal use.
The completed floor should remain free to move as designed, support normal traffic, and not interfere with doors, appliances, registers, or removable access components.
