A pre-cover kitchen plumbing checklist for sink and appliance locations, water and drainage sizing and routing, venting, cleanouts, slope, supports, shutoffs, refrigerator and dishwasher supplies, disposal and filtration space, island vent method, protection plates, fireblocking, insulation and freeze protection, pressure and drainage tests, inspection approval, and full route photographs before walls, floors, cabinets, or insulation hide the work.

Sink, faucet, dishwasher, disposal, refrigerator, icemaker, filter, pot filler, and specialty connections match actual products

Critical item

Rough-ins should land inside usable service zones without blocking cabinets, drawers, supports, or appliance installation.

Drain, trap arm, vent, island venting, cleanouts, slope, and branch connections follow the approved layout

Critical item

Drainage should remain vented, maintainable, supported, and compatible with structure and cabinets.

Hot, cold, appliance, treatment, recirculation, and shutoff piping are supported and serviceable

Critical item

Water lines and valves should suit pressure, temperature, material, fixture demand, and future isolation.

Structural penetrations, nail plates, sleeves, fireblocking, air sealing, insulation, freeze protection, and acoustic isolation are complete

Critical item

Trade routing should protect structure and piping and restore required assemblies.

Pressure, leak, drainage, vent, and required rough inspection records are accepted

Critical item

Piping should pass the applicable test before fixtures, appliances, cabinets, or finishes conceal it.

Square-on photographs, dimensions, valve map, product centers, and close-up release are saved

Future installers and owners should be able to locate concealed piping and avoid fastener damage.

Use after kitchen plumbing rough-in and tests but before close-up. Actual fixtures, appliances, cabinets, structure, and locally approved island-vent method control the arrangement. Do not energize exposed work, open or test gas piping, pressure-test plumbing, operate incomplete appliances, enter unsafe framing or attics, or modify structure without authorization. Licensed trades and the AHJ control required tests and approvals.
