Faucet and sink installation checklist

Mounting clips, brackets, rails, anchors, adhesives, sealants, and support should match the sink and countertop system and remain serviceable where required.

Apply gentle pressure at edges and bowls. Inspect clips or brackets where accessible, the perimeter seal, cabinet support, and any wall-hung anchorage.

- Sink moves under hand pressure

- Missing clips or improvised support

- Gaps in perimeter seal

- Countertop damaged or unsupported around cutout

The faucet, sprayer, soap dispenser, trim, handles, cartridges, and mounting hardware should be installed according to the product instructions without stressing supply lines.

Operate every control and swivel range. Check alignment, mounting tightness, hose travel, spray modes, temperature direction, and clearance from backsplash or window trim.

- Faucet base rotates during use

- Pull-out hose snags inside cabinet

- Hot and cold controls reversed

- Accessory holes are poorly sealed

Valves, connectors, adapters, supports, and materials should be approved for the service and installed without kinks, cross-threading, strain, or concealed leakage.

Dry the cabinet, run hot and cold water, operate shutoffs, and inspect each connection with a dry tissue. Confirm hoses do not rub sharp edges and valves remain reachable.

- Slow leak at compression or threaded joint

- Connector kinked or stretched

- Old defective shutoff left in place without disclosure

- Valve inaccessible behind drawers or stored items

Drain fittings, trap configuration, venting, disposal, dishwasher connection, and cleanout access should comply with the adopted plumbing code and product instructions.

Fill each bowl, release the water, and inspect all joints while draining. Run the disposal and dishwasher connection where present. Look for improper slope, strain, or flexible improvised fittings.

- Leak appears only when bowl is full

- Trap or waste arm is misaligned under stress

- Improvised corrugated drain fitting

- Dishwasher or disposal connection leaks during operation

The installation should not leave hidden water damage, sharp edges, blocked access, debris, or unsealed penetrations inconsistent with the project requirements.

Inspect cabinet floor, back, penetrations, countertop edge, wall, and adjacent finishes. Leave the cabinet empty long enough to recheck for slow leakage.

- Cabinet damage concealed by stored items

- Sharp cutout or fastener hazards

- Sealant smeared on finished surfaces

- No space to service trap or shutoffs
