National annex and local execution requirements

Critical item

Eurocodes require national annexes for many parameters. Site checks should use the project's national annex, local approvals, and execution specifications, not generic Eurocode text alone.

Product traceability and declarations

Critical item

Regulated construction products should have appropriate marking, declarations of performance, and documentation for the intended use.

Concealed structural work before cover

Critical item

Structural elements that will be hidden should match drawings and execution standards before they become inaccessible.

Thermal, air, and moisture layer continuity

Energy and moisture performance depends on continuous insulation, airtightness, vapour control, and drainage layers as specified for the national climate and building type.

There is no single EU building code for every detail. Use this checklist as a pre-cover control framework where Eurocodes, national annexes, product declarations, and local execution standards define the actual requirements.
