Standard
Seams should be tight and invisible. Pattern must match at every seam. No bubbles, wrinkles, or loose edges.
How to check
1. Check every seam — should be tight with no visible gap or overlap
2. Verify pattern matches at every seam (horizontal pattern alignment)
3. Look for bubbles or blisters (press gently — indicates poor adhesion)
4. Check corners — should be wrapped smoothly, not torn or wrinkled
5. Inspect trim cuts at ceiling, baseboard, and around outlets — clean, straight cuts
6. Check around windows and doors — paper should be tight with clean cuts
7. Verify no adhesive residue on wallpaper surface
8. Check that outlet and switch plates cover paper edges cleanly
Common problems
- Visible seams (most common wallpaper complaint)
- Pattern mismatch at seams
- Bubbles or blisters (adhesion failure)
- Wrinkled corners (technique issue)
- Ragged cuts at trim edges
- Adhesive residue on surface (not properly cleaned)
- Lifting edges (insufficient adhesive at seams)
