Countertop Installation Inspection

Countertop must be level, seams tight and color-matched, securely attached to cabinets, with proper backsplash seal.

1. Check level along the entire length and front to back

2. Inspect seams — tight (less than 1/16"), color-matched, smooth to touch

3. Verify firmly attached to base cabinets — should not rock

4. Check backsplash seal — silicone caulk at wall, no gaps

5. Check undermount sink seal from below — no gaps

6. Verify overhang support (corbels/brackets for >10" overhang)

7. Run your hand along edges — no sharp spots

8. Place a glass of water — should not slide (level test)

- Visible seams in prominent locations

- Not level — items roll or slide

- Gaps between backsplash and wall

- Undermount sink poorly sealed

- Insufficient overhang support

- Chips at sink cutout corners
