Cabinet Installation Inspection

Cabinets must be level, plumb, and securely fastened to wall studs or masonry. All doors and drawers should operate smoothly.

1. Check cabinets are level — use a 4-foot level along tops and bottoms

2. Verify secure attachment to wall studs (pull gently — should not move)

3. Open and close every door — smooth operation, no rubbing

4. Pull out every drawer — smooth slides, no wobble

5. Check door alignment — consistent gaps between all doors (about 1/8")

6. Verify all hardware is installed and tight

7. Check filler strips between cabinets and walls

8. Verify soft-close mechanisms work on all doors and drawers

- Cabinets not level (doors swing open or closed)

- Attached to drywall only, not studs

- Misaligned doors with uneven gaps

- Drawers binding or loose

- Missing or loose hardware

- No soft-close on some doors/drawers
