Fire Resistance of Structural Elements

Critical item

In accordance with EN 1991-1-2 (fire actions), EN 1992-1-2 (concrete), EN 1993-1-2 (steel), EN 1995-1-2 (timber) and NTC 2018 (Chapter 3.6), structural elements must guarantee fire resistance (R) for the required duration. DM 3 August 2015 (Fire Prevention Code, Chapter S.2) and DM 16/02/2007 define fire resistance classes (R 30, R 60, R 90, R 120) based on intended use and specific fire load.

Fire Compartmentation and Firestopping

Critical item

In accordance with DM 3 August 2015 (Chapter S.3) and EN 13501-2 (fire resistance classification), EN 1366 (service penetration tests), compartmentation must ensure containment of fire and smoke. Closures and service penetration seals through compartment elements must maintain the required REI performance.

Escape Routes and Emergency Exits

Critical item

In accordance with DM 3 August 2015 (Chapter S.4 - Evacuation) and applicable vertical technical standards, escape routes must ensure safe evacuation of occupants in the event of fire. Emergency exits, escape paths and signage must comply with the approved fire design. Safety signage must comply with D.Lgs. 81/2008 and UNI EN ISO 7010.
